A missing 11 year old boy in Placerville was found dead on Sunday. Roman Anthony Lopez was reported missing Saturday, last seen at his home that morning.

Very little information has been released regarding the circumstances upon which Roman was located. Police have yet to release how the boy was found, who found him, where he was found, nor when he was found. All that is known at this time, according to the Placerville Police Department, is that the body was located “under suspicious circumstances.”

Upon hearing news of the missing child, the Placerville community banded together to search the neighborhood. Neighbors, even those that did not know the Lopez family, searched garages, buildings, fields, and basements in hopes of finding the young boy.

Neighbors reported that the Lopez family had moved into their home approximately a month ago. They also reported seeing normal activity in the family with children younger than Roman often playing in the front yard.

The Elk Grove Tribune offers our heartfelt condolences to those who knew and loved Roman Anthony Lopez.

If you have any information regarding Roman’s death, please contact Detective Luke Gadow at (530) 642-5210.
