Elk Grove Teacher Charged With 5 Felonies For Unlawful Sexual Contact With A Minor

Cosumnes Oaks High School teacher and coach, Monte Reed, was booked into the Sacramento County Jail on multiple charges involving unlawful sexual contact with a minor. Today, the school district released a statement that an investigation of inappropriate employee conduct at Cosumnes Oaks High School was initiated last spring. Based on the allegations at that time, District officials immediately removed the employee in question from the school.

Monte Reed was a Cosumnes Oaks High School Geometry teacher and coached multiple sports for both boys and girls.

The charges include five felony counts, including sexual intercourse, oral copulation and penetration with a foreign object with a minor younger than 16, as well as two misdemeanor counts of molesting a minor, according to jail records.

Reed was arrested Monday in Long Beach and returned Thursday to Sacramento. He was booked into the main jail, where he remains in custody. His bail was set at $300,000.
