India Oven Has Grand Opening In Elk Grove

After months and months of construction, India Oven officially opened on April 11, 2017.  India Oven is located at Laguna Blvd and Bruceville Rd.  It is in the same center as DSW and Target.  The owners of Elk Grove’s India Oven have locations in Citrus Heights, Natomas, Grass Valley, and Lincoln.  The location features a daily lunch buffet, an extensive dinner menu, and a full bar.

Patrons lined up outside the Elk Grove location on Wednesday, April 11 to get the first taste of India Oven.  The tables inside quickly filled up while some diners opted for patio seating.  The buffet was completely full and ready to go when the line of customers streamed into this much anticipated restaurant.  Most customers opted for the buffet, however ordering for the kitchen was also an option.

Lunch Buffet

The lunch buffet contains various elements.  First, there is a cold area for salads, sauces, and fresh fruit.  Next, they had several different kinds of appetizers including vegetarian and fish options.  Then, vegetarian options such as Chana Masala and Saag Paneer.   After that were the meat options including Chicken Makahani (also known as butter chicken), Tandoori chicken, and lamb curry.  In addition, warm naan bread is brought to the table by waiters to enjoy with your meal.  Finally, there was a section for dessert and hot tea.

The lunch buffet is a great way to try a little bit of everything.  The Chicken Curry and Chicken Makahani are my favorites since they have a lot of flavor.  The meat on these items are very tender.  I really enjoyed eating them with the basmati rice and naan.

Ambiance

The decor of the restaurant is luxurious and ornate.  Colorful art adorns the walls and beautiful light fixtures hang from the ceiling.  The bar area is accented with brick, mirrors, gold, and stone.  Also, there is seating for four at the bar where they offer cocktails, beer, and wine.  Furthermore, the ambiance extends onto the fenced in patio.  The patio is split into two sections one on each side of the front door.  Comfortable furniture is accented with lots of plants and string lights.

Conclusion

In conclusion, India Oven looks like it’s going to be a great asset to Elk Grove.  There are only a handful of Indian restaurants in Elk Grove.  India Oven is the most centrally located and in an area with heavy foot traffic.  The ambiance here cannot be beat!  You won’t even feel like you’re in the Target parking lot.
