Michelin Guide Comes To Sacramento

Michelin Guide Comes To Sacramento

The future of the Sacramento Restaurant industry just got a little brighter. Announced Tuesday, Michelin will be extending its California borders into the Greater Sacramento Area. Locals have had to venture into the Bay Area for a Michelin Star experience, until now. A few promising local fine dining establishments will get a chance to be measured up against other Michelin rated restaurants for the same highly sought after title. While the guide is expected to release in June, Sacramento fine dining is readily gearing up for what could potentially change the trajectory of the industry.

Michelin Guide

The Michelin Guide is widely respected and its recognition has been coveted over decades by chefs, culinary experts, and food connoisseurs alike. To earn the title of a Michelin-starred restaurant, high quality restaurateurs aspire to attain up to three star ratings. A star rating has the ability to catapult the establishment to a new level of prestige and renown among the finest of restaurants in the world. The process of achieving the Michelin Star standard remains somewhat unknown. However, restaurants continue taking necessary and sometimes, even extreme steps to increase the likelihood of earning the coveted star rating.

Intentional investment, stunning creativity, and mastery of the culinary arts are just a few of the things that will capture the attention of the Michelin Guide. Additionally, to merit recognition, inspectors will explore websites, blogs, and restaurant reviews both online and in print. A restaurant that desires this type of recognition must find its way into the dining dialogue of the finest. They must also generate an unprecedented amount of activity amongst customers and reviewers. Now more than ever, the Sacramento restaurant scene has the opportunity to capitalize on this attention and excitement and potentially enter the world of fine dining experience.

Why The Excitement

With the potential of local fine dining establishments obtaining Michelin ratings, Sacramento has a promising near future ahead. This would open doors to some of Sacramento’s finest, most skilled and up-and-coming chefs. The expansion of recognition throughout the world would make Sacramento a more attractive place to tourists and locals alike. With the fresh and innovative cuisine that our city has to offer, the future opportunities for the region are unparalleled. Sacramento fine dining is already an experience like no other. Should the stars choose to align in our favor, our best days could be ahead.
