Stephanie Nguyen Holds Fundraiser for 2018 Elk Grove City Council Run

Stephanie Nguyen Holds Fundraiser for 2018 Elk Grove City Council Run

Stephanie Nguyen’s 1st Fundraiser

City Councilwoman Stephanie Nguyen held a fundraiser at The Falls Event Center on December 4 for her 2018 Elk Grove City Council run. It’s important to note that Nguyen is running unopposed so far and a large crowd came to show their support.  In addition, attending the fundraiser were fellow Elk Grove City Council Members Steve Detrick, Darren Suen, and Pat Hume and Elk Grove Unified School District Board Member Bobbie Singh-Allen.

City of Elk Grove Council Member Darren Suen introduced Stephanie Nguyen to the crowd. They were also joined by City Council Members Pat Hume and Steve Detrick. Clearly, these three City Councilmen are endorsing Nguyen’s 2018 run for Elk Grove City Council.

Nguyen graciously thanked her supporters for their support and pledged to continue to look out for the better interests of Elk Grove. She is well known for her work in the community as the Director of Asian Resources, a local non-profit based in South Sacramento. Because Asian Resources offers social services to low-income immigrant and refugee communities, Nguyen has a reputation for being able to reach out into the community and create tangible change.

About Stephanie Nguyen

Most noteworthy is the fact that Nguyen brings experience from working with local communities at a grass roots level. She is a champion of workforce development in the Elk Grove community.  While serving on the City Council, she has repeatedly voiced her desire to bring more jobs to Elk Grove.

Nguyen has worked on many new developments as as a City Council Member. The upcoming Indian Casino, the new Costco, the Promenade Outlet Mall, and the new Civic Center, will help bring much needed jobs to our community and much needed revenue to our economy.

Stephanie Nguyen represents District 4. After Steve Ly became Mayor of Elk Grove, the City Council sought to fill the seat vacated by Ly.  As a result, the Elk Grove City Council voted to appoint Nguyen to the Elk Grove City Council representing District 4 in February of this year. Her term will end in December 2018. The 2018 election will determine whether Nguyen will stay on the Elk Grove City Council.

In a nod to her Vietnamese heritage, Stephanie Nguyen served banh mi at her Fundraiser

Consequently, since Nguyen is so far running unopposed, her prospects for remaining on the Elk Grove City Council remain optimistic. The majority of Elk Grove citizens seem to like Stephanie Nguyen.
