Two Arrested For Attempted Home Burglary

Friday morning, Elk Grove Police responded to a burglary on Rancho Drive.

When the homeowner awoke to noises inside the homeowner’s residence, the homeowner found a female in the home. The female suspect left the house with a male suspect, who was standing outside in the driveway with some of the victim’s property.

When officers arrived in the area, they located both suspects, Morgan Kidwell, 36, and Kristin Toomey, 37, both of Sacramento.

On the scene of their detainment, the suspects were found with the victim’s property and tools used for burglarizing. Both suspects were determined to be on probation with active warrants out for their arrest after a records check, and detectives identified Kidwell as the suspect in an attempted burglary caught on surveillance video on June 16.

They arrested Kidwell for attempted burglary and violation of probation related to the June 16 incident and Toomey for the attempted burglary on Rancho Drive.
