Bobby Davis Sworn In As Elk Grove Police Department’s Assistant Police Chief

Gathered at The Center at District 56 was a large crowd as Bobby Davis was sworn in as Elk Grove Police Department’s assistant police chief yesterday.

Elk Grove Police Chief Tim Albright expressed the utmost confidence in Davis, who is a long time resident of the Sacramento area, as well as a proven leader in law enforcement.

Davis’ previous work was as the assistant police chief for Rancho Cordova when it was in contract with Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department. Davis supervised the Professional Standards and Investigations divisions at the sheriff’s office. One of the cases he was involved in was the investigation and arrest of Joseph DeAngelo, suspected of being the Golden State Killer, known in Sacramento as the East Area Killer, who in his height committed atrocities throughout California in the 1970s and 80s.

Davis’ involvement in the community extends to programs and organizations like the Special Olympics, Links to Law Enforcement, Reduction of African American Child Death Review Board, and My Brother’s Keeper Initiative. He also serves as a California Peace Officers Association Board Member.

Of his appointment, Davis said: “I am blessed, honored and humbled to have the opportunity to assist Chief Albright in leading an organization that has historically proven that improving the quality of life for its residents is paramount. I am joining an organization and management team that believes in transparency, being diverse in thought, and practices a collaborative, compassionate style of leadership. I have spent my entire life in the Sacramento region and I’m raising three young men here. I have strong family ties to Elk Grove, and I will remain here long into the future. I am privileged to assist Chief Albright in leading a professional group of women and men who are focused on healthy community partnerships, inclusive and objective interactions, and promoting public safety in a progressively diverse community and workforce.”

Congratulations to Assistant Police Chief Bobby Davis from the Elk Grove Tribune!
