The annual Taste of Elk Grove was held on March 30 at Asian Sports Foundation. The lively event is a fundraiser for the Laguna Sunrise Rotary Club. Important to note, the funds are used to support charitable programs and non-profits which benefit our community as well as international charitable causes and non-profits.

The Event

This year, since the event was held in March, attendees were able to enjoy the nice weather without it being too hot. It was a fun-filled event with copious amounts of food, wine and beer, silent auction, and socializing. Attendees received a blue recyclable bag filled with swag, coupons, and business cards.

There were twenty breweries & wineries participating in the event. Thirty six restaurants served up portions of their food to the hungry crowd. In addition, Sunrise Jazz Quartet, a jazz band played in the beer garden for people to enjoy.

Patrons noshed on items such as chicken masala, tater tots with buffalo, ranch and blue cheese sauce, boba samples, cookies, ice cream to name a few. Attendees I spoke to mentioned that there was so much food that they didn’t have room to try it all. The tangerine beer seemed to be a favorite of many. Judging by the crowd and the satisfaction of attendees, I would say that this year’s Taste of Elk Grove was a success.
