Two Arrested For Attempting To Return Stolen Items From Store

Two Sacramento men were arrested for attempting to return stolen merchandise to the Stein Mart store on Laguna Boulevard.

Officers from the Elk Grove Police Department responded to a call from the store. The two suspects who stole from the store came back to return what they stole. When police ran a record check, both James Hodges, 33, and Dale Lewis, 24, had active warrants out for their arrest. Additionally, after running the VIN number of the vehicle Hodges and Lewis were connected to, the VIN was found to be tampered with or altered.

The two suspects were arrested. One was arrested for shoplifting and his active warrant, and the other for his active warrants. The men remain in custody.
