Op-Ed: Mackenzie Wieser On Elk Grove City Planning Commission
Serving on the Planning Commission was a real honor. I value public service and to have the opportunity to play a role as part of a team of caring individuals was truly a privilege that I honored with hard work every day.
As some of you may know the City Council decided to revamp the Commission and appoint new members to ensure all areas of the city were represented. I was not reappointed to Planning Commission.
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the hard-working city staff that assisted all of us commissioners. I want to particularly thank them for reaching out to me. Same to many community members, Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen, and the Councilmembers who also reached out to me. The number of phone calls and emails I received was humbling.
A Pleasure To Serve Our City
It means a lot to me to know that my work over the last four years had an impact in our community. I want to thank each of the Planning Commissioners that I had the pleasure of serving with, your perspectives helped me grow and they helped become a better public servant.
I want to welcome Sandra Poole, Juan Fernandez, and Suman Singha to the Planning Commission, please know that I’m here if you have any questions and I look forward to hearing from you all. It was a true pleasure serving our amazing city, and I look forward to what’s still to come.
