Bob’s Discount Furniture Comes To Elk Grove

Bob’s Discount Furniture Comes To Elk Grove

The grand opening and ceremonial ribbon cutting for “Bob’s Discount Furniture,” located at 7707 Laguna Blvd. Suite 100 in the Laguna Crossroads shopping center, took place on Friday May 27.

Interestingly, there were three grand openings that took place on the same day throughout the Sacramento region. In addition to the Elk Grove location, Roseville and Folsom stores also held their grand openings as well. Mayor of Elk Grove, Bobbie Singh-Allen and members of the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce such as, President and Chief Executive Officer, Angela Perry and Angela Spease were in attendance to welcome the new store to the city.

A Unique Shopping Experience

Unlike other furniture stores, Bob’s offers a wide variety of on-trend furniture pieces and mattresses at discounted rates. Most importantly, they offer a unique in-store purchasing experience. To that end, customers will be able to enjoy personalized shopping at the store’s “Experience Center” where they can access a digital catalog and browse their latest product line. Additionally, each store features a cafe that serves complimentary gourmet coffee, ice cream, cookies and candy.

Founded in 1991 in Manchester, CT, they now have 150 stores nationwide.

“We are at 24 different states now,” said Eric Adelstein, Senior Vice President of Distribution Center Operations. “To come across the country like we are now – it’s one thing to be in L.A. but to be in Northern California…I never thought we’d be here. It’s an amazing opportunity.”

Not Your Average Furniture Store

According to the most recent publication of Furniture Today, Bob’s ranked “10th largest furniture store” in America. Furthermore, Bob’s ranked, “third greatest net sales growth of any Top 100 company, up by $177.7 million to an estimated $1.61 billion.”

Not only that, but they are recognized leaders of sustainability by both the “Sustainable Furnishings Council” (SFC) and the “National Wildlife Federation” (NWF).

Additionally, they pride themselves in supporting local communities through the, “Bob’s Discount Furniture Charitable Foundation,” and a separate entity known as “Bob’s Outreach” program. Moreover, they donated a total of $17.5K in charity funds to local organizations. In Elk Grove, $2,500 checks were presented to organizations who demonstrated “random acts of kindness.”

Those organizations were: Harriet Eddy Middle School; Legenade Childrens Fund, and St. John’s Program for Real Change (not pictured).

Mayor Singh-Allen remarked on the stores philanthropic efforts.

“And this is one of the reasons I so value your company mindset…that you give back to the community and it says that right here.”
