Buffalo Wild Wings Celebrates Grand Opening

Elk Grove’s newest sports bar and restaurant, Buffalo Wild Wings (B-Dubs) located in The Ridge Shopping Center, held its grand opening and ceremonial ribbon cutting event on July 25.

Members of the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce such as Chamber Director, Christopher Hoffman (also EGUSD’s Superintendent), Elk Grove Planning Commissioner Sergio Robles and Chamber ambassadors, Brett Bartholomew, Anna Hooper and Genny Fulp were among some of the attendees that helped to facilitate the celebratory event.

A Booming Economy

Following the impact on local jobs due to the pandemic, Elk Grove is seeing an increase in local businesses and chain restaurants opening in high traffic areas. This is good news for the community as more job opportunities are becoming available to those still seeking employment.

“I believe it’s business like Buffalo Wild Wings, and others coming to Elk Grove that will help the economy grow,” said Elk Grove Planning Commissioner, Sergio Robles.”

“As a City, we get to keep these tax dollars that are spent here, as opposed to Elk Grove residents going to Sacramento or elsewhere. We also have a great opportunity to add new jobs to our amazing city, which is always a plus.

-Sergio Robles, Elk Grove Planning Commission

The restaurant is visible from the corner of Bruceville Rd and Elk Grove Blvd so it is no surprise that applicants piled in by the dozens once the “Now Hiring” sign was posted outside.

“We hired a lot of new team members – we hired over 150 (people),” Assistant General Manager, Harvey Fong told the Tribune. “They’re all from the Elk Grove community – a lot of first time restaurant workers, but the community came on in full force.”

Atmosphere

The interior boasts a modern and urban aesthetic with high ceilings, exposed duct work and contemporary track lighting. In addition, guests will enjoy ample seating throughout. From booths to pub tables, each guest will enjoy sitting within close proximity to one of many flat-screen TV’s mounted on each wall. To the left of the entryway, the bar is easily the main focal point. There is one large flat-screen TV in the center, and four smaller screens flanking each side. Also, once guests arrive at the bar, they will discover a wide variety of beers on tap with an extensive cocktail menu. For example, their signature drinks such as their, “Spicy Passion-fruit Margarita;” and their popular, “Top Shelf Long Island Iced Tea” are already becoming customer favorites.

The ambiance is reminiscent of a neighborhood sports bar, but on a much larger scale. Sports memorabilia , and framed jerseys border the restaurant’s black brick wall perimeter. According to Lyle Tick, President of Buffalo Wild Wings, their purpose is simple: to “Inspire legendary experiences between friends.” Interestingly, despite the bar culture they attract, B-Dubs does a great job creating a welcoming family friendly atmosphere as well.

A New Sports Bar Experience

B-Dub’s menu options extends passed wings despite their name. They offer a variety of burgers, wraps, and something they call a “Bird Dawg,” which consists of a hand-breaded chicken tender between a hot dog bun, and loaded with various sauces and toppings.

Finally, guests will be able to enjoy a new sports bar experience close to home, and well into the evening hours as they remain open until 1 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, and until midnight Sundays through Thursdays.

“Buffalo Wild Wings is excited to be part of the City of Elk Grove,” said Fong. ” The residents are excited to have a new sports bar.”
