Step Up Tutoring Needs Volunteers

Step Up Tutoring Needs Volunteers

It’s no exaggeration to say that this year has caused several changes for everyone. Restaurants have had to serve takeout, businesses have had to close, and students have had to earn an education at home. To put it simply, this year has not been easy. Everyone has had to make major changes, including Step Up Tutoring. Give students the help they need to succeed!

Step Up Tutoring is a non-profit online tutoring organization that helps children from low-income communities get the academic help and support they need. Their mission is to innovate and scale free online tutoring for families who cannot afford private tutoring in the Los Angeles Unified School District. While the online format has been rather convenient for the company, there has been an increase in students struggling academically. Without direct access to the classroom, this year has become much more challenging for several students. With this increased need for special tutoring, Step Up needs help!

This is where you come in! Step Up Tutoring needs tutors for students learning Math and English. The students vary from second grade through eighth grade. Volunteers have the opportunity to work anywhere between two and twelve hours a week and are welcome to make their own schedule. Each tutor will spend one on one time with a student through Zoom, and they will be trained prior to their first session. By volunteering, you will not only help a child academically, but you will also help keep them on track of their education journey.

This year has not been easy for anyone. However, we can change that! Help impact a child’s life today through Step Up Tutoring. It’s a decision you will not regret!
