This week A Seat At The Table Bookstore celebrated Pride Month 2021 in Elk Grove with a Pop-Up Pride event. Hosted by the cool and relaxing Savvy House Coffee Bar located on Bruceville Road, the event took place from 11 am – 3 pm this past Sunday, June 27. During the event, A Seat at the Table, the pop-up bookstore, sold unique and interesting books for adults and children. Their purpose: celebrate diversity and create a safe space for all people of all races and backgrounds. Their focus this year: celebrating the LGBTQ+ community in Elk Grove, and in the Sacramento region. A Seat At The Table believes, “Everyone deserves a seat at the table, and books can change the world.” The pop-up bookseller expects to establish a permanent space on Laguna Springs Drive later this year.

During the event, A Seat at the Table offered books for all ages, genders, gender expressions, sexualities, and other LGBTQ+ identities along with a diverse mix of books, toys, games, puzzles, and trinkets. Visitors received a 10% discount on a book, just for wearing their favorite Pride outfit.
