Football Game Between Franklin & Sheldon Canceled Due To Fight

A football game between Franklin High School and Sheldon High School was stopped by police officers. Officers stated that a fight broke out in the middle of the game. For the safety of everyone involved, the game was canceled.

A video on Instagram posted by user munoz_qt showed video footage of what happened at the game. The user said that someone yelled about a gun which caused an immediate stampede in the video. Also, the user claims that a girl brought a taser with her. Police officers have not said if this is true. No shots were fired and no firearms were found. Additionally, the students involved in the fight were placed in a separate room until their parents or guardians arrived.

Deputies believe that someone setting off fireworks caused the panic. Fortunately, homecoming events at Sheldon High School will continue as planned. It is uncertain whether the football game will be rescheduled.
