Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen Reads To Kids At A Seat At The Table Books Pop-Up
Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen read to local children at A Seat At The Table’s pop-up event at Savvy House Coffee Bar. This is not the first time the mayor has read to kids during a pop-up event. Of course, A Seat At The Table has held numerous pop-up events in the past. The business will be opening up a brick-and-mortar store soon at Laguna Springs Drive sometime later this fall.
A Seat At the Table’s physical store is going to be a bookstore and a cafe. It is meant to provide a place for local readers to explore new books, as well as to hang out and to work or study. The business focuses on bringing inclusive and diverse pieces of literature. However, many of the books the business currently offers are children’s books. Also, customers can find a variety of knick-knacks and gifts. A Seat At The Table believes that “books can change the world.” They are an LBGTQ friendly company that also enjoys partnering with local businesses such as GradePower Learning, Savvy House Coffee Bar, and Elk Grove Tribune.
Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen has attended the pop-up event in the past. And many times she is seen reading books from the bookstore to children. Surprisingly, the mayor collects children’s books and purchased a few copies herself at the event.
