Another Sold Out Elk Grove Brewfest In The Books

The third annual Elk Grove Brew Fest (EGBF) was held on April 20, 2018.  The festival was held at Old Town Plaza in Old Town Elk Grove.  Elk Grove Brewfest has sold out every year since they started in 2016.  This year, the beneficiary was the Young Life organization.

VIP ticket holders received a swag bag with a larger glass for beer drinking, and a nail care set from a local nail salon. People with a regular ticket received a regular sized glass that was a bit smaller than the glass received by VIP attendees.

Drinks

EGBF consists on over 50 breweries and hard cider companies coming together in Old Town Plaza.  Four Elk Grove breweries participated this year: Flatland Brewing Company, Tilted Mash Brewing, Dreaming Dog Brewery, and Waterman Brewing Company.  Patrons can sample from as many breweries as they would like.  Promo codes were given out for Lyft and Designated Driver tickets were available to EGBF as well.  Along with the breweries, attendees could also sample wine from 5 different wineries.  Also, three local home-brew clubs had booths there.

For some attendees, the cider available turned out to be an important part of their experience as well. Many people liked Two Towns Cider House with their different varieties of cider, including a ginger version. Wildside Hard Cider with their apple ciders also won rave reviews.

Food Options

Miso Pork Tacos

Brewfest patrons also had many options for food.  While some came prepared with pretzel necklaces, Neck Nosh was there to help out the unprepared.  Snack Attack Jerky was also available for snacking.  For those who wanted more substantial food, 12 food trucks were parked at EGBF to feed hungry customers.  People crowded around Masa Guiseria for their tacos, elote, and duritos.  Cousins Maine Lobster (seen on Shark Tank) and Bella Familia Wood Fired Pizzas were also popular with the crowd.

Entertainment

For those looking for entertainment, there were many fun options.  Two popular Sacramento DJs came out to entertain the crowd.  One stage featured DJ Nocturnal while the other stage featured My Cousin Vinny.  Many people seemed to just enjoy drinking their beer and jamming to the music put out by the DJs.  An area was set up for corn hole.   There were also vendor booths with shopping, games, and raffles. It was great to see so many people supporting not just local breweries and food trucks, but also local shops and vendors, selling their goods.

The crowd was packed to the gills. It was quite crowded at the Elk Grove Brewfest. But there were so many things to see a do, that everyone was well entertained. Of course, the fact that everyone was drinking definitely enhanced the experience. Everyone we spoke to seemed to be having a good time. Brewfest organizers touted the event as a great success. Patrons really enjoyed the Elk Grove Brewfest.

A Huge Success

Despite moving Elk Grove Brewfest to April from late May, the event was a huge hit!  The weather held up nicely for the event.  People from all over the Sacramento area came out to enjoy EGBF.  The event was well organized, fun, and well worth the cost.  I had a great time and the all of the friends who came with me did as well. I would definitely like to attend the Elk Grove Brewfest next year. Next year’s event will surely sell out as well!
