Chicks In Crisis Charity Concert!
On August 21, 2021, Dr. Jacqueline Cheung “Jax” (our Editor-In-Chief) and I had the pleasure of attending a charity concert benefiting Chicks in Crisis. This non-profit organization saves babies, aids pregnant mothers and fathers, and keeps these young parents in school. Fortunately, Elk Grove Tribune was there to cover this event that was held at Chicks in Crisis.
Despite being the middle of August, the evening was balmy and free of clouds. Families came to the event which was held at Chicks in Crisis’s location. Lawn chairs and blankets were laid out for seating. Additionally the band Unsupervised performed at this venue, playing covers of famous songs. Phil Serna, from Sacramento County Board of Supervisors and Mayor of Elk Grove Bobbie Singh-Allen participated as a part of Unsupervised band.
Several prominent community members also attended the event. Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen, City Council Member Stephanie Ngyuen, and City Council Member Darren Suen were at the event. Also, former City Planning Commissioner Mackenzie Wieser, Cosumnes CSD Director Jaclyn Moreno, Consumnes CSD Director Rob Brewer, and Sacramento County Supervisor Don Nottoli were seen enjoying the festivities.
