Firefighters Local 522 & Elk Grove Police Officers Association Both Endorse Mayoral Candidate Bobbie Singh-Allen & District 1 City Council Member Darren Suen; EGPOA Endorses Kevin Spease

Elk Grove mayoral candidate Bobbie Singh-Allen and District One Council Member Darren Suen have been endorsed by the Sacramento Area Firefighters Local 522 and the Elk Grove Officers Association.

Elk Grove Police Officers Association and Sacramento Area Firefighters Local 522 Endorse Bobbie Singh-Allen

Bobbie Singh-Allen, Trustee for the Elk Grove Unified School District, is challenging incumbent Elk Grove Mayor Steve Ly in the mayoral election this upcoming November election.

In a press release issued on August 19, 2020, the Elk Grove Police Officers Association cited Singh-Allen’s “proven track record of service” in the Elk Grove community as the primary reasoning for their endorsement. They cited her eight years of service on the EGUSD Board and her continued commitment to the “positive growth in the youth of our community, our small businesses, and keeping our city safe by providing more training for law enforcement officers.”

The Sacramento Area Firefighters Local 522 also cited Singh-Allen’s eight years of service with the EGUSD Board and said that her years of service show that she has the “knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform at a very high level”.

Elk Grove Police Officers Association and Sacramento Area Firefighters Local 522 Endorse Darren Suen

The Elk Grove Police Officers Association has also endorsed Darren Suen for the District One City Council seat. The Association cited Suen’s years of service on the City Council as well as the successful working relationship between themselves and Suen as the reasoning for their endorsement.

The Sacramento Area Firefighters Local 522 likewise endorsed Darren Suen for the District One Council seat. They cited his years of service on the City Council and his educational background for their endorsement. They stated that this combination of assets has allowed Suen to “grow this community in an intelligent and planned matter”.

Elk Grove Police Officers Association Endorse Kevin Spease

Finally, the Elk Grove Police Officers Association endorsed Kevin Spease for the District Three City Council seat. They cited Spease’s committed efforts to connect Elk Grove youth with first responders by organizing events such as “Stop with a Cop” and “Fish with a Firefighter” as the reasoning for their endorsement.
