Preparing For The Storm
While it is unusual for Elk Grove and surrounding areas to experience a severe storm, it is a good idea to be prepared for them. Bring your pets inside, or provide them with a stable and solid shelter. Anything that can be blown away in your yard, like grills, umbrellas, and furniture should either be weighed down or brought inside as well.
Keep a small collection of flashlights, batteries, candles, some snacks and water. You don’t want to be bumping around in the dark. And if your car happens to get smashed by a falling tree, at least you will have water in your home.
