Shop Black Friday Coalition Presents 4th Annual Event In Sacramento
The 4th Annual Black Friday Sacramento event will be one for the books. Don’t miss this 2-day event! Join The Black Friday Coalition on Friday, November 27 from 10am-6pm and Saturday, the 28th 12pm-7pm. The event features live music, spoken word, a variety of vendors from food to clothes and accessories to handmade soaps, oils, and artwork. Consequently, it is a one-stop-shop with all the energy and good vibes to carry you through the end of the year, with your safety at the forefront of planning.
The organizers, Berry Accius, Dana Maeshia, and Ayesha Ransom-White are all local Black-owned business owners, entrepreneurs, and community builders. Together they are The Black Friday Coalition.
Black Friday Coalition
While recycling the dollar within its own community is important, the Black Friday Coalition is deeper than buying Black, according to Ms. Maeshia. “This is not a hobby, it is a responsibility,” she says. Specifically, she speaks of the responsibility placed on her and other business owners in a system set up for the demise of the Black community. Rather, the Coalition is focusing on the solution rather than the problem. Subsequently, the movement is about customer service, customer retention, providing a platform for the community and youth, and creating intentional spaces for Black businesses to thrive. She goes on to say, “it is about keeping vibrations high and lifted, building right now-where we stand.” Simply emailing a customer after a transaction or remembering something special about them places value on the business. Indeed, business is more than a transaction, it is a connection and relationship building.
Level Up
Of course, Ms. Maeshia knows the importance of leveling up in her own business. Although she admits she is still growing into who she is meant to be. Her first business venture, Gloria’s Accessories, was started after she struggled to pay a bill after her mother’s death. From selling earrings to now books through her bookstore All Things Literacy, she understands the importance of community and building meaningful relationships.
Keep Building
Unfortunately, the reality is books are sold on Amazon. Therefore ordering online does not provide the human connection, experience, and community spirit. But all of that can be provided with a small business owner. Rest assured these dollars go directly to the family and community, not corporate companies. Alas, Mr. Maeshia says it’s important to keep her own energy up and radiates that to the businesses she works with. Consistency, intention, and adjusting to the new normal of this pandemic has become a focus. “Keep building” is the Black Friday Coalition mantra.
Higher Vibrations & Enthused Energy
Berry Accuis, owner of Seriously Delicious Eats, Hidden Gems Thrift Store, Voice of the Youth, and a local activist, is the epitome of higher vibrations and enthused energy! In an EGT live stream at the 2nd Annual Black Food Fest back in September, he stressed the importance of buying and supporting Black-owned businesses. Likewise, Mr. Accuis lives and breathes for his community and it shows. The energy, the entertainment, the food, the vendors, the people, the events he has a hand in are phenomenal.
Additionally, Mrs. Ransom-White, owner of Suggested Eyewear and The Retail Pop-Up Venue is nothing short of amazing. Don’t let the gentle, shy demeanor fool you, she is a force to be reckoned with. Obviously, the love and genuine care to get you in the right pair can not be replicated. Check out some of her Facebook lives and posts with customers looking for community input.
Join her and all the other amazing vendors of Florin Square, African Marketplace, and new vendors showcasing their products with love this Friday and Saturday. So, support local, small, Black-owned businesses that believe whole-heartedly in giving back to their community. Rest assured, with The Black Friday Coalition the event will be a success!

Covid-19 Adherence
Undoubtedly, the event organizers take the safety of their attendees seriously. The event will adhere to social distancing protocol. Also, temperatures will be taken upon entry. Furthermore, masks are required and security will monitor the proper wearing of masks. Additionally, vendor booths will provide wipes and sanitizer. Also, space has been added to the outside parking lot and traffic will be flowing to prevent any crowding. Your safety is their priority.
