Woman Injured In Shooting; Infant On Board

On Wednesday, July 7th, a woman was shot in the arm by an unknown suspect. The shooting occurred on Southbound Interstate 5 near Elk Grove. CHP South Sacramento responded to the incident. It is unknown who the suspect was.

The woman was in the passenger seat when she was shot in the arm. The driver was a male. Investigators do not know if the man was grazed by the bullet or by the shattered glass. There was glass found in the driver’s neck.

Inside the vehicle was a six-month infant who fortunately was not injured. The three victims were taken to a hospital. However, investigators have leads on the shooting and who the suspect was. The woman is expected to make a full recovery.
