2 Killed In Fatal Accident on I-5 South Near Elk Grove Boulevard Exit

On Sunday around 9 PM, two people were killed in an accident on I-5 south near the Elk Grove Boulevard exit. The driver of a Nissan sedan, traveling 70 MPH ran into the back of a semi-truck after an earlier collision caused traffic delays.

Consequently, the driver and passenger of the sedan died at the scene.

Additionally, one lane on southbound I-5 was closed for a couple of hours after the incident.  All lanes were re-opened by 11 PM.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Additionally, no other injuries were reported.

The victims of the incident were identified as Mariah Alvarado and Cierra Wallace of Stockton, CA.  Our heartfelt condolences go out to victims and their family.
