Two suspects suspected of robbing a bank in Lockeford were arrested Monday. The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office is handling the case because the crime occurred in San Joaquin County.
The robbery occurred around 10 AM on Monday.
“A man walked into the bank and handed a note to the teller with some demands on it,” explained Deputy Andrea Lopez. Lopez is the spokeswoman for the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspects fled with money. Fortunately, nobody at the bank was injured in the robbery.
Police released information searching for the suspects and a perimeter was set up at approximately 10:45 AM. Police tracked Darnell William Randle and Archie Lee Hansbury III to a residence on the 7400 block of Grenfell Court. The neighborhood is just by Elk Grove Boulevard and Bruceville Road.
After searching for four hours, Elk Grove officers located the suspect vehicle. Hansbury was found inside the residence and Randle was found in the backyard. Both suspects were taken into custody and booked into San Joaquin County Jail.
Elk Grove Police Department Public Information Officer Jason Jimenez said Elk Grove Police broke down the perimeter shortly after 3:40 PM. Jimenez said Monday that nearby schools had been notified. However, the suspects did not appear to pose a threat to local campuses.
