Man Suspected Of Making Bomb Threat To Elk Grove Auto Mall Arrested

Over the weekend, a bomb threat was made to the Ford dealership at the Elk Grove Auto Mall. This morning, detectives arrested Erik Schiecke of Sacramento, who allegedly called in the threat.

Regarding the relationship between the suspect and Ford, Elk Grove police spokesperson Officer Jason Jimenez said: “It was a random call to the dealership. At this time there does not appear to be a connection between the suspect and the dealership.”

Police cleared the auto mall on Saturday, August 7, after the threat of a bomb was left on voicemail. Out of caution, police evacuated the area and swept it. They determined the scene to be safe and started to pursue an investigation.

Detectives arrested Schiecke, 40, at his home and took him into custody this morning, charging him for making a bomb threat.

He is being held at the county jail with a bail set at $50,000.

Schiecke’s arraignment will be on Thursday, August 22.
