Laguna Creek High School On Lockdown Due To Threats
Laguna Creek High School was placed on lockdown early Thursday morning. This was due to a possible threat written on a bathroom wall.
As a result, the high school was placed on lockdown for several minutes Thursday morning. During that time, Elk Grove Unified School District security, Elk Grove police officers, and Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies investigated the scene.
The spokeswoman for Elk Grove Unified, Xanthi Pinkerton, stated that this all began as a response to a threatening message. In this case, a message had been written on a bathroom wall at Laguna Creek High School. As a result, a lockdown began around 10:50 AM at Laguna Creek High School located at Bruceville Road and Big Horn Boulevard. Later at 11:13 AM, it was lifted by school officials after it was determined that the threat was not credible.
Although the lockdown was lifted, Elk Grove police and Elk Grove Unified are continuing to investigate the threat.

Dear Parents/Guardians
This morning, school officials received a report of a possible threat to do harm to the school. School officials immediately contacted law enforcement to investigate and conduct a threat assessment. School officials also took swift precautionary measures to protect the safety of students and staff put the school on lockdown.
At 10:50 a.m., staff and students followed the emergency lockdown procedures and responded effectively and efficiently. At 11:13 a.m., as soon as safety officials secured the school and an all clear was given, the lockdown was lifted and law enforcement determined the threat to not be credible. All staff and students are safe and school has resumed.
