Robberies In Neighboring Elk Grove Blocks Believed To Be Related
CASE UPDATE: Robbery Suspects Arrested
“On April 25th around 2:15, officers responded to two separate incidents that are believed to involve the same suspects. In the first incident, the victim (juvenile) was in front of a business in the 8600 block of Elk Grove Blvd when he was approached by the unknown suspect. The suspect demanded the victim’s property and the victim refused. The suspect and the victim started fighting. A second unknown suspect jumped into the fight and attempted to take the victim’s property. The suspects were unsuccessful in taking the victim’s property and fled in an awaiting vehicle.
Shortly thereafter, we responded to a robbery that had just occurred in the 9700 block of Tralee Way. Officers arrived on scene and learned the victim (juvenile) was walking when he was approached by the two suspects. The suspects demanded the victim’s property. Fearing for his safety, the victim ran from the suspects. The suspects caught the victim and threw him to the ground. The suspects assaulted the victim while they removed the victim’s property. During the incident, one of the suspects brandished a firearm at the victim. The suspects took the victim’s property and fled in an awaiting vehicle that had two females in it.
During the course of the investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspects and the license plate for the suspect vehicle.
Last night, around 10 p.m., patrol officers located the suspect vehicle traveling southbound Elk Grove Florin Road approaching Bond Road. Officers conducted a vehicle stop and detained both occupants. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of an unloaded firearm under the driver’s seat. Both occupants were determined to be related to the robberies that had occurred on April 25th. The suspects were identified as 18-year-old Serena Abell and a 16-year-old male, both of Sacramento. The male juvenile was booked into juvenile hall on attempted robbery, robbery, and firearm possession related charges. Abell was booked at the main jail on attempted robbery and robbery charges.
Today, detectives located and arrested the two additional outstanding suspects (a male and female juvenile) related to the April 25th robberies leaving their residence in Sacramento. Both juveniles were booked into juvenile hall on attempted robbery and robbery charges.
Detectives were able to recover some of the victim’s stolen property.
Based on the investigation, detectives are confident all suspects are in custody related to the robberies described above.”

Yesterday, on the afternoon of Thursday, April 25, officers responded to two separate incidents they believe involved the same suspects.
In the first incident, Elk Grove Police Department responded to a juvenile victim who was approached by an unknown suspect outside the 8600 business block of Elk Grove Blvd. The suspect, who was described as an Asian or Hispanic male between 17-20 years old, demanded the property of the victim, but when the victim refused, an altercation broke out between the two. A second unknown suspect joined the fight, but when the two suspects were unsuccessful in taking the victim’s property, they fled in a waiting vehicle, described as a newer white 4 door sedan.
Shortly thereafter, officers responded to a robbery outside the 9700 block of Tralee Way. They learned another juvenile victim was approached by two suspects, one described as an Asian male between 17-20 years old and another described as an African American male around the same age as the first. Though the victim ran from the suspects, the suspects caught up to the victim and assaulted the victim, flashing a firearm at the victim. The suspects took the juvenile’s property and fled in a white car with two females in it.
No arrests have been made. The investigation is active and ongoing.
Elk Grove Police Department and Elk Grove Unified School District are working together to protect the safety of students. Extra officers will be placed in the area where the robberies occurred during school arrival and dismissal times.
