Highway 99 Accident: CHP Motorcycle Officer Expected To Survive

A California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer was injured in a crash with another vehicle, Friday morning around 6 AM. The accident closed all northbound lanes on Highway 99 at Fruitridge Road for over an hour.

The CHP officer hit the back of another vehicle after changing lanes. Furthermore, the officer was then thrown from the patrol motorcycle.

The officer was taken to UC Davis Medical Center with major injuries, however, the officer is expected to survive.

Although the officer was not identified, it is reported that the officer has been with the department for 10 years.
