Man Shot Dead In Elk Grove Parking Lot
A man was found shot and dead in an Elk Grove parking lot early Tuesday morning, June 28. The Elk Grove Police Department said gunshots were reported at about 2:20 A.M in the area of the 9100 block of West Stockton Boulevard.
Upon arrival, officers found the man wounded in the rear parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express and Suites, located at 9175 West Stockton Boulevard. This is near Laguna Boulevard and Highway 99, next to the Old Navy store. According to Elk Grove Police spokesperson Hannah Gray, the man died from gunshot wounds, despite officers attempting to revive him. He was pronounced dead on the scene. It is unknown whether or not the victim was a guest at the hotel.
Suspect Arrested; Victim Not Yet Identified
The Sacramento Coroner’s Office has yet not identified the victim. Elk Grove Police are currently conducting a homicide investigation. Officers said the “circumstances that led up to the shooting are still under investigation.” The Department is asking anyone with any information to call the Communications Center at 916-714-5115.
Elk Grove Police say they arrested 22-year-old Adan Amador for the shooting. Both the victim and shooter are Sacramento residents. He is detained at the Sacramento County Main Jail and is charged with homicide. Elk Grove Tribune sends its condolences to the family of the deceased.
