Elk Grove Man Arrested For Attempted Murder

On Friday night, an Elk Grove man was arrested for attempted murder around 9:30 p.m. on Efthemia Way. According to Elk Grove Police, 21-year-old Shawn Collins knew the victim. Collins is accused of hitting the victim in the head as well as cutting and attempting to choke the victim. Collins fled the scene; however, he was located by responding officers.

Suspect Detained and Charged

Collins was charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Collins is currently being held without bail. Additionally, the victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
