Delta Shores Businesses Begin To Open
Businesses at the new Delta Shores shopping center have begun to open. The center near the Consumnes exit off of the 5 freeway is a widely anticipated shopping center near Elk Grove. The location of Delta Shores off of the 5 freeway makes it in proximity to Elk Grove, South Sacramento, and Greenhaven.
Schedule For Opening
In-N-Out and Dick’s Sporting Goods opened at the beginning of September. There are currently approximately 50 retailers scheduled to open within the next year. According to Vice President Gary Muljat of Merlone Geier Partners, many more stores and restaurants will be opening in the next few months this Fall. In total there is room for approximately 75 stores or restaurants.
Petsmart, Hobby Lobby, and Panda Express will all open in the next few months. Walmart‘s opening is scheduled for right before Christmas 2017. RC Willey and Regal Cinemas should open in January 2018.
Hokee Poke, the “home of the poke bowls and lobster roll,” will open by the end of 2017. The menu will be the same as their other location in Elk Grove. There are a few things to note. First of all, they expect to have their liquor license and start serving beer by end of first quarter of 2018. Also noteworthy, be sure to check out their Hawaiian style variety musubis. Hokee Poke brings a little bit of “kawaii” to Delta Shores.
Development Plans
The current phase of development includes approximately 776,000 square feet of retail space. There is a second phase of 150,000 square feet planned. However, this will be largely driven by how quickly homes will sell in the Delta Shores neighborhood. Consequently, there is no set schedule yet for the second phase of development for Delta Shores shopping center. There will be at least 4000 residential units or home lots. Merlone Geier Partners currently owns the land. They will eventually sell residential lots to home developers.
