Elk Grove Food Feature: Sushi Q

Sushi Q is a high end sushi restaurant located in north east Elk Grove.  The location is near Calvine and Elk Grove Florin.  They have been opened for about 2.5 years and will be celebrating their 3 year anniversary in August.  The restaurant has many unique offerings such as Wagyu Beef, uni from Japan, and oysters with quail eggs.  They also have hot items such as ramen and steamed sea bass.

Sushi Q has sleek modern decor with gray, white and pops of yellow.  Tables are available for those who don’t want to sit at the sushi bar.  However, the sushi bar is a great place to see the sushi chefs at work.  You can also see into the kitchen where they make the hot food.  There are also TVs recessed into the bar.  The wall also shows their large variety of sake.

Food

High quality food and rotating specials are the highlight of this eatery.  Currently, the most popular menu items have been the chef’s choice nigiri, sashimi, and chirashi.  These dishes allow the sushi chefs to showcase the freshest and most beautiful fish of the moment.  They offer an extensive menu of sushi rolls.  They put their own spin on it with unconventional ingredients.  Their signature is bacon though other unique elements such as coleslaw and lomi cabbage.  Their seasonal specials menu boasts gourmet offerings such as Wagyu beef, foie gras, and uni.  The soups are a delicious offering for those who don’t enjoy raw fish or if you’re just in the mood for soup.

Not only do they offer unique and gourmet food, they have really beautiful presentation.  A variety of different shaped plates and bowls is used to showcase the food.  The edible garnishes and accent salads add specialness to each dish.  Attention to detail is what makes Sushi Q a higher end restaurant.

In conclusion, Sushi Q is the perfect place for the sushi connoisseur.  From high end ingredients to exceptional plating, The restaurant offers a gourmet experience.  Sushi Q brings a certain much needed luxury to the diners of Elk Grove.
