The Almighty Food Co & Milestone In El Dorado Hills Are Worth The Drive!
I had a chance to visit The Almighty Food Co, as well as their sister restaurant Milestone recently, and I will say right off the bat that I was pretty blown away by the high quality of the food and the warm and inviting atmosphere. The Almighty Food Co prides itself on having a gluten free menu. They use a lot of local fresh produce and proteins from local farms.
When you first walk into The Almighty Food Co, you see a lot of plants, and some soft lighting. It gives the place a trendy and eclectic vibe.
The Food
Misoyako Eggplant & Seared Shittake
The Misoyaki Eggplant & Seared Shittake dish was my favorite dinner dish. I like eggplant but I don’t always like the way people make it. The misoyaki sauce was so yummy that it totally brought out the flavor of the eggplant. I could have eaten plates of this dish and I never would have gotten tired of it. I loved that it was served with succulent shittake mushrooms. The sesame seeds on top helped to give a little texture to the dish. This is a must try if you go to Almighty Food Co!
Scottish Salmon Tartare-tine With Dill-Mint Tzatziki
I liked the freshness of the salmon. Typically, I eat a lot of salmon with cream cheese if it’s with some sort of bread like a bagel. I would never think to use it with tzatziki sauce. But the cool flavor of the tzatziki makes this dish very flavorful with the salmon. I liked that the radish slices added some crunch.
Autumn Risotto
When I first saw the Autumn Risotto, I couldn’t wait to dive in. Biting in, I loved the buttery flavor of the brown butter cream. The fried sage and the crispy garlic added a bit of texture. It was rich and satisfying. You might think that this dish was a bit plain because there was no protein like chicken but this wasn’t the case. I thought this dish was perfectly satisfying and filling.
Confit Romanesco With Almond Romanesco Sauce
I really loved the Confit Romanesco. It was served in an almond romanesco sauce. It was so yummy and flavorful. Romanesco isn’t a very common vegetable I see in restaurants. But I loved the texture of it. It was roasted perfectly and the romanesco sauce was so yummy, tthat it tasted almost meaty even though there was no meat in this dish.
S’mores Panna Cotta
Our server Kapri highly recommended this dessert. I do love s’mores. I wasn’t sure how it would taste in a panna cottaHowever, this dessert worked. The panna cotta really tasted like s’mores, The graham cracker crumbles added texture to the soft dessert. I was really wishing my daughters were with me so they could have some.
Mai Tai & Martini
At the waiter’s recommendation, I picked the Mai Tai, and my dining companion picked a Martini. The Mai Tai is seriously the strongest I have ever had. It was delicious and fruity. Let’s just say I was good the rest of the night. I tried the Martini and it was good, about what you would expect. I could tell it was made with premium vodka.
Gingerbread Creme Brulee
Last of all, I tried the Gingerbread Creme Brulee. Oh my goodness! Creme brulee is one of my favorite desserts. This was one of the best creme brulees I have ever had! The gingerbread taste was lightly sweet and the top was crunchy. I really enjoyed breaking into it and eating it. This is a must try if you come to Milestone!
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and impeccable customer service at The Almightly Food Co and Milestone. I will definitely be back to The Almighty Food Co frankly because I want more that Misoyaki Eggplant & Seared Shittake, and Autumn Risotto, and because I want to try more items on the menu. Since I only tried the drinks and dessert at Milestone this time, I will definitely be making a reservation in the near future for a full dinner at Milestone. Elk Grove, take notice, The Almighty Food Co and Milestone are worth the drive to El Dorado Hills!
