District 4 Community Meeting Addressing City’s Plan To Build Affordable Housing To Be Held December 8
On Sunday, December 8, Elk Grove City Council Member Stephanie Nguyen will host a meeting for the District 4 community. The meeting will address concerns about the City’s plans to build affordable housing units along Bruceville Road. The meeting will be one of the first since the City’s switch to by-district representation.
Community Concerns
The community has been particularly vocal on social media about the addition of affordable housing plans in Elk Grove. District 4, is home to the city’s recently established, District56 concept. District56 includes a community civic center, the recently opened Elk Grove Aquatics Center, new shopping facilities and new housing. In addition, the Senior Center of Elk Grove and Veteran’s Memorial Hall will be located in the new Center, set to open soon according to the District56 website.
Meeting Details
The meeting is on Sunday, December 8, at Elk Grove City Hall, 8400 Laguna Palms Way at 10:00 – 11:30 AM. Furthermore, the City’s Housing and Community Service Manager, Sarah Bontrager, will present information on affordable housing plans and statistics on the homeless in Elk Grove.
